FIRST & MAIN TENANT JAKE’S GOOD LIFE TO RELOCATE TO LARGER SPACE
Dedicated Life is good® Brand Store Signals Optimism for Future of First and Main Shopping District
HUDSON, OH (January 22, 2009) – Jake’s Good Life, an independently owned shoppe dedicated to the Life is good brand of clothing and home accessories announced today it’s move and expansion from 16 Clinton Street to 41 Village Way, the 3100 square feet space formerly housed Fundamentals toy store in the First and Main Shopping District, Hudson. The grand re-opening will be Saturday February 7, 2009. Until then Jake’s remains open for business at its current location on Clinton Street, Hudson.
The store is owned by Randy Baun and Patrick Randall, lifelong friends and business partners who opened the only other Ohio Life is good Genuine Neighborhood Shoppe, Jake’s Life Rocks, in Rocky River this past October. The partners will open their third shoppe, For Goodness Jake’s mid-April 2009 in the Cleveland Clinic.
The larger space on Village Way will make Jake’s Good Life one of the largest Life is good Shoppes in the Country. The store owners promise customers a bigger overall Life is good experience. “Bright colors and fun décor give it an exciting vibe from the moment you walk in the door”, owner Randy Baun says. “The larger space allows us to offer departments within the store dedicated to golf and tennis, Good Moves-athletic apparel, the more fitted line-Good Vibes, and more.”
“Kids will have their own space too, where they can play and be entertained while their parents shop”, Patrick Randall says.
Life is good, Inc.’s humble beginnings represents a great American success story. Brothers Bert and John Jacobs were fresh out of college when they designed a line of t-shirts with simple graphics and slogans, selling them out of their van. Hitting on a formula that combines a healthy dose of optimism and a dollop of good humor has been the recipe for sweet success for the company. Beginning with only $78.00 in the bank in 1994, their sales topped $150 million last year-and that’s with no national advertising.
“Life is good® has great products and an even greater message of hope and optimism behind it,” said Baun. “We live the Life is good® attitude and we make sure our stores truly embody the brand.” Mr. Baun and Mr. Randall have been strong supporters of the Life is good® Kids Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving the physical, emotional and social well being of children.
