Chance for Stardom in Hudson as Radio Disney Offers Tryouts for KidsRadio Disney comes to First & Main for Pop Squad Auditions
Hudson, Ohio, (May 22, 2006) – Have you ever watched your child dancing and singing in front of the mirror? Have you ever wanted to give him a shot at show-biz? Well, here is your chance - at the Radio Disney Pop Squad Auditions at First & Main Shopping area, on Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Radio Disney will be searching for five child stars for their exclusive Pop Squad, which consist of singing, dancing, and cheering at all Disney Radio events for the next year in the Northeastern Ohio area. The squad gives children a look into performing for audiences, as well as an opportunity to sharpen their singing and dancing talents.
“We are thrilled to host the Radio Disney Pop Squad Talent Search,” said Regan Gettens of First & Main. “This is a chance in a lifetime for some talented children in our area. We wish them all the best of luck at their auditions.”
To audition, children must be 14 years or under by June 3, 2006. Each child needs to sing a few bars of one song listed on the Radio Disney Top 30. Songs consist of hits from stars like Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, and B5. Other song choices include a list from the Disney, High School Musical Cast. On the day of the performance, children will perform their numbers for a panel of judges on the Green inside First & Main. The winners will be narrowed down to 50 children who will be asked to perform at the Tower City Amphitheater Tops Kids Fest on Saturday, July 22, 2006 and for celebrity judges on July 23. The top five “Pop Squad” stars will be announced that day.
“This is the 4th time we have hosted this talent search,” said Radio Disney local personality, Jag. “Each year the performers get brighter and better and we are looking forward to seeing what the kids have in store for us this year.”
