Final Schedule of Events Announced for the
Hudson Blues & BBQ Festival
Net proceeds to benefit Hudson Athletic Booster Club
Hudson, Ohio (June 5, 2010) – The first annual Hudson Blues & BBQ Festival will take place along Village Way in the First & Main Shopping District on Saturday June 19, 2010. Admission is free and food and beverage tickets may be purchased on site. Event details are as follows:
Saturday June 19, 2010
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Over a dozen amateur teams will compete in the Backyard BBQ competition grilling chicken. Join us as we cheer on The Burnouts, Woody’s Cookin’, Boys & Grills, Jim’s Backyard, T-Bones, Sunday’s Best, The Real Diehl, Grillin’ & Grinnin’ and BBQ 4 Me.N.U amongst other teams. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Celebrity judges include Mayor William Currin, Executive Chef Rick Carson and Chuck Collins of 1590 WAKR among others.
2 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Professional food vendors including Totally Cooked Inc., Old Whedon Grill, Bitters, Bones & Barley and Brian Marks will barbeque on site as they compete for the “People’s Choice Award” for best chicken and ribs. A variety of barbeque and other grilled items will be available for purchase. The “Wet Your Whistle” Tent will feature Coors Light and Great Lakes Dortmunder beer, bottled water and Pepsi products for purchase. Additionally, Hershey’s of Hudson will be on site with ice cream treats as well as a variety of exhibitors from Hudson and the surrounding area showcasing their products and services.
Blues Music: The Bluescasters will be playing from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. and The Frankie Starr Band will take the stage from 4:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
