CLEVELAND CLINIC CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF
NEW RETAIL, DINING CORRIDOR DEC. 4
New Space Adds More Options to Enhance the Experience of Visitors, Patients and Employees
Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, Cleveland: As part of its ongoing effort to make the hospital a more relaxing and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and employees, Cleveland Clinic will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, Dec. 4, for a new retail and dining corridor on its main campus. Seven new stores have opened over the last three months, and this event will serve to welcome them all to campus and ensure visitors are aware of their new options for dining and shopping.
The first floor of the Miller Family Pavilion (building J) is now home to:
? 360-5 – Cleveland Clinic's wellness store, which features unique products and gifts to help make healthy living easier
? Au Bon Pain – A casual eatery specializing in artisan breads, pastries, sandwiches, soups, salads and entrees
? Douzen – A coffee, tea, and made-to-order sushi restaurant with more than 35 selections of teas and fresh coffee roasted weekly from Crooked River Coffee Company in Mayfield Heights
? Green Roots Collection – A green, eco-conscious shop, featuring Life is good® clothing and home accessories, along with eco-friendly fashion, jewelry, and accessories
? Joseph-Beth Gift Shop – An independent bookselling company offering flowers, books and magazines, as well as an assortment of gifts, cards, Cleveland Clinic logo merchandise, and healthy snacks
? KeyBank – The Cleveland-based bank now has a full-service branch inside Cleveland Clinic, offering checking accounts, savings accounts, loans, lines of credit and an ATM
? Starbucks Coffee - The premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffee in the world also featuring Italian style espresso beverages, and a variety of pastries and confections
“The addition of the Miller building in fall 2008 not only allowed us to rethink the design of our hospital rooms, exam areas and surgical suites to make them as patient-friendly as possible; it also encouraged us to think of ways to use the common areas as positive distractions from the sometimes stressful hospital experience for the millions of patients and families who visit our campus,” said William “Bill” Peacock III, Chief of Operations.
The grand opening event on Friday, Dec. 4, will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include a variety of festive activities, including a musical performance from students at Cleveland Children’s Academy, strolling local musicians and special offers and giveaways from each of the retailers.
Campus visitors can follow the signs to the new “Shops & Dining at Miller Family Pavilion,” and patient information desks and red coat greeters will be fully equipped with information on store hours and locations at all times.
