Emotive Structure, an exhibit organized and curated by La Cachette Fine Art and Lambert Fashion, will include paintings by Maria Bertrán, Michael Greenwald and Walter Sauermann as well as fine jewelry pieces by Anne-Marie Chagnon and Felixe Carole Dicaire. Held in the First and Main shopping area of Hudson, the exhibit will run April 23 to May 3 with receptions on both weekends. Artists will be present at the first Saturday reception.
Maria Bertrán, an established artist in the field of contemporary Impressionist oil painting, will exhibit works completed on location in Provence, France. Themes include landscapes, seascapes and still lives, her brushwork bringing to life her vision of the world around her.
Painter Walter Sauermann boldly grabs one’s attention through his color treatment and particular texture. Landscapes of the northern France landscape are reminiscent of French artist Albert Marquet’s canvases. The use of color and shapes render the scene recognizable, relying on forms that give the illusion of the object.
Michael Greenwald, Cleveland artist, has been painting for over ten years, experimenting with surface treatment and subject. Created from memory, his canvases relate tension and space, conflicting ideas that concord within his compositions. Elaborate skies and unrecognizable landscapes have solidity that lead to illusionistic reflection.
Anne-Marie Chagnon, Canadian jeweler, works with a mix of pewter, glass and rare imported eclectic materials that reflect the creator’s intensity. Hailed as “art to wear,” her work has earned the Critic’s Choice Award in Canada and Europe, and an exclusive association with internationally known Cirque du Soleil.
Jeweler Felixe Carole Dicaire pushes the limits of space through her use of geometric and fluid forms. A Canadian from Ontario, her work embraces the body with its airy and graceful shapes. Her technique of combining colored stainless steel wire and feathers creates jewelry that evokes feminine movement.
Emotive Structure will be located at 100 First St. in Hudson’s First and Main shopping area. Exhibition hours are 11-5pm Monday through Wednesday, Thursday to Saturday, 11 am to 8pm and Sunday, 12 pm to 5 pm.
