THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON STEEL DRUM BAND
Come out and listen to a unique blend of music! The University of Akron Steel Drum Band was founded in 1980 by Dr. Larry Snider. At the time, it was one of only three colleges in the U.S. to have a steel drum ensemble. All of the University's steel drums are built and maintained by Cliff Alexis. The band is comprised of undergraduate and graduate percussion students. Students perform in the ensemble as a requirement for their degree program along with the percussion ensemble and other musical groups.

SOPHISTICATED SWING
George Petrich is pleased to present... Sophisticated Swing, the area's newest 18 piece swing band. As he has done many times, George has gathered a talented bunch of musicians from all parts of Northeastern Ohio. Their job, to make your affair the most enjoyable evening you have ever experienced. The band's playlist features a long and varied selection of music, from the big bands of the great swing era to the comtempory music from bands of the post-war era.
Sophisticated Swing is not just your average dance band.We do have a lead vocalist, the wonderful Marilyn Cordial, but do not be surprised to find another member of the band stepping out from behind their music to give you a treat at the microphone. We also enjoy playing pieces that require the appearance of The Sophisticated Singers, a collective ensemble of singers that will bring back the sounds of the old big band vocal groups, like the Modernaires or the Pied Pipers - just a little something to make your night special.

ETC. All American Youth Show Choir
From 7-8 PM experience ETC!! ETC All American Youth Show Choir is a community based organization which sponsors three performing groups. Our central location in the Valley of Akron, Ohio, allows us to serve the entire greater Akron community. Our high school performers have toured Great Britain, France, New Zealand, and Australia, as well as small towns and big cities throughout the United States.
All of the members in the group enter through audition which are held every spring. In addition to being a competitive ensemble, ETC provides performances each season which include community festivals, banquets, conventions, and fund raisers.
We like to think the "E" in ETC stands for excellence as well as energy. This tradition of excellence speaks for itself in the success of our alumni, who have distinguished themselves in many professional fields, not just as performers, after graduation from ETC.
